Chattanooga’s 77th annual Armed Forces Day Parade will take place downtown on Friday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m., continuing a long-standing local tradition of honoring those who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. military.
The parade will begin along the 1200 block of Market Street and travel north toward Aquarium Way, bringing together service members, veterans, and community participants in one of the city’s most recognizable annual events.
Hosted by the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council, the event highlights all branches of the military and offers residents a chance to show their support for the armed forces. Attendance is free, and spectators are encouraged to line Market Street to take part in the celebration.
Road Closure Notice:
Market Street will be closed along the parade route leading up to and during the event. Those traveling through downtown on Friday morning should plan for temporary traffic disruptions and allow extra time or seek alternate routes. For full traffic details, see additional information here.
The Ambassadors will be putting up flags and making sure the parade route gets extra attention for this important recognition of our military community. Join us in supporting this long-standing Chattanooga tradition and encourage your friends, work neighbors, and employees to come out and show your support for this important reminder of Chattanooga’s strong ties to its military community.
