Executive Committee Meeting

August 13th, 2025 - 2:00pm

1.     Call to Order and Minutes Approval

 Todd Philips called the meeting to order. Executive Committee members attending were Susan Harris, Adam Kinsey and Gordon Stalans. Also present was Steve Brookes, Executive Director of the DCA.

The minutes from the July 9th, 2025 Executive Committee meeting were approved.

2.     Media

The Times Free Press has recently run several stories on the downtown area and they are working on a ride along with the ambassadors.

3.     Beautification & Landscaping

 The beautification project for US 27th and 4th Street has been completed by the State however they are looking for a partner to handle ongoing maintenance. The area is outside of the DCA footprint. Miller Martin is going to explore ways that the DCA could be utilized however any funding would need to be provided by outside sources.

 Steve is working on creating a set of landscape standards for private businesses within the DCA so that there would be a uniformed looked throughout the district. There would also be cost savings since there would be bulk ordering of preselected materials.

4.     Finance Committee Update

 Gordon updated the committee on the finances however it is the start of the fiscal year so there is not much to currently report.
