Mindy B’s Deli Expands Dining, Catering Capacity

For more than 14 years, Mindy B’s Deli has served up breakfast and lunch from the Miller & Martin Building, facing Georgia Ave. Over the past few months, the restaurant has expanded, nearly doubling its seating capacity and significantly increasing its food prep area. One of the most important features is the increased window signage and better visibility from Patten Square and Georgia Avenue.

“I used to tell people we were hiding in plain sight,” said owner Mindy Benton. “Now you can’t miss us! We were at a point where we really needed more space. The dining was maxed out, and we didn’t have enough space for storage or to prepare catering orders. This new space is complete at the perfect time for summer foot traffic,” she added.

One of the restaurant’s most popular catering items is the box lunch. Just this morning, the restaurant filled an order for 50 box lunches, which was easy to complete and store in their new space. The restaurant has completed more than 400 box-lunch orders at a time, but the logistics were challenging. The new space makes things easier for the staff and customers.

“This is a great location for us, and I’m so grateful we were able to expand,” Mindy added. “I really appreciate all the hard work that the Ambassadors do to keep Patten Square clean and welcoming. I know when I come in every morning, they’ll be there, waving and smiling. They will have already picked up any litter, and they are keeping the place looking good. They do a great job for all the businesses on Patten Parkway.”

The next time you head to Mindy B’s, bring a book you’ve read and swap it for one that’s new to you at their free lending library. You can also cozy up in a comfy chair to enjoy your book, and breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Every month, the deli offers a unique featured sandwich, side, and dessert. In April, Mindy will offer up a meal inspired by her recent trip to Australia. This tasty pastrami sandwich has melted Swiss, pickles, and pastrami on grilled sourdough, with a new sauce Mindy is testing out. The deli special is a jalapeno slaw, and the dessert is a confetti blondie. Don’t miss it!
